Tirzepatide $250/month
semaglutide vs tirzepatide

Tirzepatide is a dual glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist (RA). This means it works by imitating not one, but two unique incretin hormones produced by the human body. It works by stimulating GLP-1 production in the body, which helps the body produce more insulin when needed. GIP has been shown to decrease food intake & increase energy expenditure therefore resulting in weight reductions & when combined with GLP-1 receptor agonism, may result in greater effects on markers of metabolic dysregulation such as body weight, glucose, & lipides. This medication has all the benefits of Semaglutide for weight loss with appetite suppression but it also adds the component of additional fat loss as a GIP.

A Tirzepatide Screening form is required to determine eligibility for our Tirzepatide Therapy.

CAUTIONS
Cautions

  • Based on findings in rats and mice, GLP-1 Receptor Agonists like Semaglutide and Tirzepatide may cause thyroid C-cell tumors, including MTC, in humans as human relevance of Tirzepatide-induced rodent thyroid C-cell tumors has not been determined
  • After initiating treatment, monitor for signs and symptoms of pancreatitis (eg, persistent severe abdominal pain, sometimes radiating to the back and which may or may not be accompanied by vomiting);  If pancreatitis is suspected, discontinue Tirzepatide and do not restart if confirmed
  • Patients treated with Tirzepatide showed an increased risk of diabetic retinopathy complications compared with placebo/comparator; rapid improvement in glucose control has been associated with a temporary worsening of diabetic retinopathy
  • Post-marketing reports describe acute kidney injury and worsening of chronic renal failure, which may sometimes require hemodialysis in patients treated with GLP-1 receptor agonists; a majority of reported events occurred in patients who had experienced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or dehydration; We may require bloodwork to monitor renal function when initiating or escalating doses of Tirzepatide in patients reporting adverse GI reactions

  • Serious hypersensitivity reactions (eg, anaphylaxis, angioedema) have been reported with GLP-1 receptor agonists; if hypersensitivity reactions occur, discontinue treatment, treat promptly, and monitor until signs and symptoms resolve
