Description
Toradol is a prescription nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) manufactured by Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. This brand-name drug contains ketorolac tromethamine. It treats moderate to severe pain by reducing prostaglandins, the hormones that cause inflammation, fever, and pain. It is not a narcotic and is not addictive.

Toradol is a powerful drug that can relieve moderate and severe pain in the short-term. You can feel the effects as quickly as 5 minutes afer IV administration or 15 minutes after receiving an injection. It is not a solution to treat chronic pain, such as arthritis, because there are serious side effects with prolonged use. It increases your risk of heart attack and stroke and can cause kidney failure when taken longer than five days consecutively.

Patients over 65 years of age are advised against using Toradol. Like other NSAID medications, you should not take Toradol if you are on a blood thinning medication like Warfarin.
Special Considerations:
In order to receive this medication, females of child bearing age will be required to take a pregnancy test on site or sign a waiver before receiving this medication
